A vote for Mark Robertson may not save “Democracy,” but it’s a very good start! Are you tired of hearing the battlecry, “save our democracy” when it really has very little meaning to it? I am, but it got me to thinking about a neglected area of “democracy” and that is term limits for Congress. Many go to Congress as public servants and become politicians. This should be reversed. Some turn temporary positions into permanent ones because they stay for the perks, but they shout out, ” I enjoy serving the people!” Some might enjoy, but that is not the point. The point is that no matter how many times someone is reelected, that someone needs to bow out and return to being a private citizen. That is what I call Democracy. In Nevada, Rep Dina Titus is running for her 7TH term. That is not what I call Democracy! Nothing against her, and good for her that she has been reelected many times, but these representatives need to transition back and move on to other things. When they stay for too long, they become stagnant and focus on dealing with favors and not with work. Stagnant waters attract mosquitoes and it becomes the swamp. You can do your part of draining the swamp by voting for Mark Robertson. Give him a chance. Give Nevada a chance. Give Democracy a chance. To my Nevada friends: Please remember the name Mark Robertson when you vote today or next week. The Founding Fathers have approved this message ( I am assuming).
